RelateAbility supports the professional development of counselors, social workers, educators, and group facilitators. Participants are immersed in experiential learning activities and think critically about how to apply these activities to help clients and students reach their goals. We’ll use a group facilitation framework that can be used for classroom, gymnasium, outdoor, or in-office experiences.
RelateAbility provides professional development opportunities which let you have some fun with your team while learning about experiential group facilitation or adventure therapy. Based on your goals, we can design a single-day training, multiple-day training, or create a longer-term relationship to help your team implement an adventure-based program in your school or organization.
Counselors, educators, and group facilitators can schedule individual consultation sessions. We’ll tailor conversations to meet your specific needs and interests for bringing experiential learning and adventure therapy to life in your practice or in your classroom.

Congratulations to those of you graduating with a Master's Degree in counseling! If you're looking for a supervisor to help you with your Texas LPC licensure and interested in learning more about adventure therapy, call 210-391-2569 so we can evaluate whether we'd fit well together. When possible, I invite my supervisees to co-facilitate groups with me on a ropes course, when paddling in a kayak on the rivers of South Texas, or when hiking in local parks. Oftentimes, I'll invite my associates to do their supervision with me in these locations as well.

For the last several years, I've served as a volunteer leader for the Association for Experiential Education's Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group. One of the most significant projects over that time has been the development of the Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist (CCAT) credential. For mental health practitioners interested in learning more about bringing experiential learning and adventure therapy to your clients and students, please see the information below. As the Chair of AEE's Certification Council, I'd be glad to answer your questions about the certification. And if you're interested in professional development and training in this area, I can help with that too.
